Fun in the Snow!

It snowed again last night (just a few inches) but of course we had to go and play. Since I got Josh to shovel the drive way I decided to try out Ben's new snowboard that he bought with his birthday money (thanks Grandpa Ken and Grandma Joyce) I must say I am just a natural!! :-) Watch out Mike here I come!

Like father like son Ben was out here trying over and over again to learn how to do it. In the picture with him crashing he had actually made himself a jump I missed getting him going off the jump. It looked pretty cool. I will have to get a better picture next time.

This is our first snowman. Luke worked on it for a couple of hours his name is "Trigger" because he was built with a perfect aim to throw the snowballs at the cars as they drive by.

After Josh finished shoveling the driveway he built Mt. Everst and his king chair on top of Mt. Everest so he can watch and make sure we were building the snowman correctly! :-) That kid

Ecotarium

We ventured out to a museum yesterday called "Ecotarium" the boys loved it. It was basically about nature and animals. There was a section all about rocks and minerals all of the different kind of crystal and quartz minerals was really neat. There was an entire section about space - Ben and Luke tried on the space suits, Josh wasn't too into that. There was a live snake section the boys got to touch those, mom wasn't too into that! But overall it was a very cool hands on museum!

This lion is Josh's new friend becuase they can "pose in the same way" he says!
This picture is from the eyes of a fly

This snake (is called a black snake even though he is 100% white) would sit right at the window and stick his tongue out so Josh did the same thing. You can't really tell but their tongues are sticking out at the same time. It was pretty funny.

Luke made me take about 8 pictures of these eagles. In the picture of him there is an eagle on each side. We tried to get them to move closer together but they were very uncoopertive. Anyway, he is bound and determined to draw one of these eagles. I can't wait to see how it turns out I am sure it will look awesome. We'll put a picture of it on the blog when he is done.

This guy was just cute. He kept sticking his tongue out as well but wouldn't perform for the camera!

Happy Valentines Day!

We had a fun "hearty" dinner last night. Josh wanted to take some pictures and put them on here. Hope all of you had a wonderful day. We love you all!

Snow Day!

Yesterday was quite the day. Around midnight it started snowing by 5:00 am it was icey sleet hitting our windows quite loudly (that went on for several hours). Mike left for work around 8:00 am there was only a couple inches of (icey) snow on the ground. It snowed all day by around 3:00 we had more then a foot of snow and they hadn't plowed our streets yet nor had our driveway been shoveled. Mike would not be able to get into our driveway so Ben and I went out and shoveled for him. While we shoveled it was still snowing mixed with sleet and hail and wind oh so fun! When we were done we had ice all over in our hair on our hats clothes etc. But we survived Mike made it in the driveway we probably got another 4 inches of snow after that. It's done snowing. Now it's just 15 degrees and really windy (30-40 mile an hour gusts). Kids made it to school today the roads were slick but the joys of living in New England!!!!! But the snow is beautiful especially when we can just watch it from my window!

The Ark

For the past week we have all been working to put together this 1000 piece puzzle. It's been alot of fun but we are glad it's done! Building the ark had to have been an overwhelming task if you really start thinking about all of the details of being able to meet all of the animals needs etc. Amazing!!! The Lord was obviously invovled every step of the way.

It's about time!!!!!

Santa outfitted the boys with snow pants, sleds etc and they have done nothing but collect dust until today! It snowed finally. It wasn't a ton probably about 4 inches but it was enough to do a little snowman and snow angel making, plus a lot of sledding. By 8:00 am this morning we were out trying out the sleds. These pictures were taken just in our backyard. By 10:00 am we were off to a primary activity. By 1:00 we were home and on our way to a park where there were some bigger hills to sled on. They had a blast. Good thing they got to play today, at the rate we are going it might be our only snowfall!

Bird watching

This is one of Josh's (actually all of ours) favorite things to do. Our backyard has a lot of trees with bird feeders attached to them. He loves to climb up on the counter so he can see all of the birds really good. Yesterday there was the most beautiful red cardinal. It's good breakfast time entertainment!

New House!!!

We just had our offer accepted on this house. Yea! It's a cute house and should be a great fit for us for awhile. It is about 6 houses up the street from where we live now (should make for an easy move especially since half of our stuff is still in boxes!) We won't actually close and move into the house until April. That's perfect timing for us just in time for summer. I might be able to get some pictures of the inside next week.
