MIT Museum

Today we ventured out to the MIT Museum it's a fun little museum with all sorts of robots, gadgets and holograms.

But the highlight was a robotics class that the boys participated in. They were learned how to use computer programming software and program robots to move. It was a lot of fun. The class was only an hour but it needed to be two, three or maybe four hours. They could have done that all day!

Bathroom

After breakfast Luke and I decided to paint the bathroom. I've been wanting to do this for a couple of years now and with the help of Luke, am finally making it happen. We've had a good time. More pictures to follow.

Breakfast in bed

When our friend Mike came to visit at Christmas time, he introduced the boys to "Goldenrod eggs", now everytime they have a day off from school, they request these eggs for breakfast. This week the kids are out of school for February break, and yes they requested the eggs. So, feeling a little generous, I made them the eggs AND served them breakfast in bed. It was a first for them and they thought it was so cool.

I got a big old
I love you and Thank you.

Sunday art by Luke

Happy Valentines Day

Basketball season is over. Ben and Luke both, had a great season. Ben was on a 7th - 9th grade league which had him as the young guy on the team, and for the first time in as long as I can remember, was just an "average height" guy on the team. It took some adjusting for him, but I think was good, he had to work much harder and as a result improved a lot. His team made it to the championships.

Luke went from never scoring a point in a game ever, to scoring 3 points in one game. He loves playing basketball and I love watching him. His final game ended as a tie in overtime. In his age group, they only allow one overtime. Luke's team was in the lead, and in the last 2 seconds of the game scored a point to tie the game.

Snow

These pictures are a week old, but I'm posting anyway. We had mounds of snow and was about to get another storm that included water which meant heavy snow. Not a good thing for already weighed down roofs.

The day before, everyone was out trying to clear their roofs off. In this picture they are snow blowing the roof of one of our schools.
We had 2-3 feet of snow on our roof and at least a foot of ice in the gutters. Water started to come into our windows in our bathrooms on our 2nd floor. It took all afternoon to dig some channels through the ice so the water could have a place to go.

The storm wasn't bad, just a few inches, but it was absolutely beautiful.

My favorite aunt

Last weekend, I was sick, tired, and laying on the couch, when I got a text message from my aunt Amelia, that there was a surprise on my door. Boy was I surprised to find boxes of brand new dishes on my doorstep!!

Amelia (my aunt or adopted sister) sent me a "just because" gift and I LOVE her for it.

Thank you Amelia for brightening my day. Every time I see them, I think of you and smile!

Snow day #6

Shaq-o-meter keeping track of Boston's snow totals

Letter

Dear Mrs. Pickett,

In response to your last comment on the blog, I apologize for the recent repetitive postings. For 3 days I've tried to think of something else to post, but currently there is no adventure to our lives. We have been consumed by a white mass that will not leave us alone. More often then not we wake up to a continuous flow of THIS . .

. . . .and as a result, we have been left with nothing more to say.

Love,
Your snowed in with cabin fever friend in MA
